Now you can rebuild this historical ship with Cobi bricks. The RMS Titanic was a British passenger ship that sank in the North Atlantic in the early morning of April 15, 1912 after a collision with an iceberg during the maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. Of the 2,224 passengers and crew members on board, more than 1,500 died in the sinking, making this disaster one of the deadliest commercial maritime disasters in modern history.

The RMS Titanic was the largest ship at the time of her commissioning and one of the other three Olympic classes of the White Star Line. She was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyards in Belfast. Thomas Andrews, her architect, died in the disaster.

Under the command of Edward Smith, the ship embarked on a voyage with some of the richest people in the world, as well as hundreds of emigrants from Britain and Ireland, Scandinavia and other European countries who were looking for a new life in North America. Although the RMS Titanic had advanced safety features such as watertight bulkheads and remote-controlled watertight doors, outdated maritime safety regulations meant that there were not enough lifeboats to accommodate all the people on board. The RMS Titanic had just enough lifeboats for 1,178 people, which was only half the number on board and a third of her total capacity.
