So make some space on your shelf for a powerful new mechanical model that has just been added to the Ugears automobile collection. Introducing the Cobra Drift racing car, a two-seater convertible with elegant lines, inspired by what may be the most famous sports car of all time: the Shelby Cobra 427. The Cobra 427, which was produced between 1965 and 1967, had a 7 , 0-liter machine with 450-510 hp, accelerated from 0 to 100 km / h in just over 4 seconds and had a top speed of 260 km / h.
With its powerful spring drive, the Ugears Cobra Drift racing car has more horsepower under the hood than any other mechanical wooden model we know. The model is raised under the chassis using a key. Before setting up your 3D wooden model Cobra Drift racing car, move the air filter that protrudes from the hood to the windshield and turn the switch in front of the passenger seat to the locking position (parallel to the door). Then turn the key under the car. After 6 to 6.5 turns the spring is fully wound and off you go - hum, hum-hummm! - Your racing car is ready to howl! Move the gearshift lever between the driver and passenger seats to the desired position (reverse, neutral, forward). To start the model, place it on a flat surface, push the air filter forward and your Cobra drifts off at full throttle (the wheels must be turned in a lateral direction when starting), drives in a circle or jets the course on a straight line Route along.
For us, this 3D puzzle / DIY model is a gem, with wide tires, arched shapes (thanks to the parts precisely laser-cut in 1mm thick plywood), its wide grille and its open convertible design. The moving parts of the wooden car include the rotating front wheels, the doors that can be opened, and the bonnet and trunk lid, which can be opened. Instead of a rubber band motor, we used a powerful spring mechanism to give this racing car its power and to extend the life of the model. Thanks to the locking mechanism, you don't have to hold the key when opening it - the potential energy is stored with every turn, without any loss, until the strong spring inside is completely tensioned. To put the model in drift mode, turn the front wheels completely in one direction or the other. Then place it on a smooth surface (e.g. tiles) and your model will drift sideways (ideally, depending on the surface and the angle of rotation of the wheels, it should make a half to a full turn before moving on). If the wheels are set to a straight position, the model covers a considerable distance - 8 meters or more! If you turn the wheels less or if you place the racing car on a less smooth surface, your Cobra Drift will make two or three full circular movements.
